European Higher Education for the World 2 - Studies on international students' mobility and brain gain Duration:33 months Project Description:
The project will support and give a picture of the notion that the EM Programme contributes to the
provision of skilled specialists so needed in disfavoured regions outside the EU - through Mundus
alumni - contributors to technology and knowledge transfer to developing countries.
Planned outcomes will improve the image of European initiatives targeted to attracting students from
all over the world, which are at times associated in social perception with brain drain and human
capital loss for developing countries. Research within our first Action 4 project (European Higher
Education for the World - Studies and Promotion) brought implications for farther studies and
analysis on the impact of the Mundus Programme.
The same consortium will conduct studies to investigate the European Higher Education position in
global education market, focused on its influence on brain drain/gain phenomena with emphasis on
Mundus impact.
Project activities will be carried out in two stages:
